What about my privacy and security?

We started Sift to provide consumers with greater transparency. When it comes to your privacy and security, we're committed to fully protecting you and providing that same transparency about why we need certain information and how it is used:

1) Sift requires access to your emails in order detect digital receipts, automate the claims, and simplify the process of getting money back from selected retailers and credit card issuers

2) We do not receive a password for OAuth supported emails like Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo. For others, Sift stores passwords, tokens and other sensitive information in a separate secure database using AES-256 encryption.

3) Data is transmitted securely via SSL (TLS 1.2) bank grade encryption.

4) All of our servers and databases have very strict access control. Our databases are essentially firewalled and nearly impossible to connect to outside of our VPC (virtual private cloud, similar to a VPN but for AWS servers)

5) All data transmitted and stored is anonymized.
